Fatsport Subaru WRX/STi and Liberty RS ECU upgrade.These EPROM chips were used by Subaru to make post-production changes to the engine management, and STi/Prodrive to offer an ECU performance upgrade. The chip was manufactured by Fujitsu for this application only, and went out of production many years ago. We have managed to get hold of a limited number of these very special chips. This modification can best be described as an "Ecutek" type mod for the older cars. Post 97 the technology changed and the ECU could be reflashed through the diagnostic port using a password protected Subaru protocol. Ecutek have cracked this and offer reflashes for the newer cars. Our upgrade is suitable for WRX MY93-MY96, and for Liberty RS MY89-MY94 only. The chip gives us access to all of the major maps and allows us to alter timing, fuelling, and boost, provide better throttle response on and off boost, smoother power delivery further through the rev range, faster turbo spool and depending on other modifications up to 25% increase in power. We have a number of maps including genuine Prodrive and STi Version 2 that can be programmed onto the chip depending on the current ecu type, other modifications done to the car and requirements of the customer! The boost is generally raised between 13 and 16psi, with fuel and timing maps to suit. In the process Jap spec cars are fuel mapped to 97RON fuel, and speed limiter removed. As with any performance device, it can potentially reduce the life of your engine, and “drive” components. Our maps have been thoroughly tested and installed on many cars. We believe are within safe limits, and the cheapest way of increasing grin factor per dollar spent. If you are local to the Perth area then we would be happy to fit the chip for you.
